Right then last night i was payed a visit by Ste.
After a few minutes of looking at the engines wiring in disbelief he said "what a f**king mess" and continued to have a look around. basically it is ready to go apart from 2 things.
1. The fuel pump relay is missing
2. The camshaft sensor is shagged.
With these two things put right i am assured it will run and then all i need to do is tidy it up. Wish i knew before it was done what i know now. But whats done is done and it will be different.
Has given me a bit of enthusiasm to get on with it now though.

8) stick with mate
is it a 8v or 16v ?

its a 16v, is the X16 XEL Astra Sport engine.
the cam sensor shouldn't stop ya getting it running ben. the engine should tick over without it. normally when any of the sensors are gone its like a rev limiter cutting in around 2500rpm.
Just telling ya in case you think it's stopping the engine from running.

right that is completely different to what have been told as i was told that the cam shaft sensor tells the engine when to give spark and when to add the fuel, we definately have fuel but there is not a spark.
Thanks brian where you been?
