vaughanmc

6J would be ideal but if there 6.5J they'll be made fit lol

im running 195/45/16 6j wheels dropped 60 and its just clearing my back arches, so you would probs be best to roll your rear archs lad

I had Greg's 16" Softstars on mine and they cleared no problem (loads of room) so hopefully the Speedlines will go on no problem if I manage to buy a set

My Softstars cleared the arches on the SR 100%, but the Speedlines catch a little, and the tyres have no rim protector on the Speedlines at all, whereas the Uniroyals on the Softstars do!

Is there any mods needed to make the front centre caps fit ?

Benn

You might need to cut the end off the cvs. Remove the rear dust coveres.

All allesios are 6.5J fella. The lower you are/or go the more problems you will have. All novas are different but People seem to have problems inside and outside at the rear. And the front arches also can catch again depending how low you are. Even with mine folded and slightly flared I had bother on 45 profile tyres at the front under enthusiastic driving. Hence one of the reasons why I got another set of wings this year and went further with them and dropped to a 40 profile to make sure it didnt happen anymore. You no doubt will have problems with the centres caps too. If your car hasnt had any arch work before Id be prepared to do some if your going to put allesios on it. Thats an honest insight fella. ;)

Nick.

Rolling/flatten the arch is gonna be a needed job i'd say.

i have has no mods at all on any arches and the fronts have not been flared. also i have not had anything taken of the CVs only removed the back hub dust covers.

Benn

I didnt have to cut my cvs, as they had worn the center of the cap away.
Had to remove the dust caps tho.

Rubbing wise, if your tyres are arounder side wall you'll have more room than if they are a squarer shape.

toyo proxes all round.

Lucky guy! As said all novas are different and there is also two castings of allesios which I found out last year..... This may also make a difference or it did with mine anyhow as one set wouldnt clear my brakes! I do agree with your tyre choice though! I researched different 40 profiles before going for toyo proxes last year due to their rounder shape. And touch wood ive had no bother since I retaxed the car.

toyo proxes all round.

Very round side wall.

When i changed my tyres from toyos mine rubbed like funk on the inner arch (where the shock enters the body on the rear)
And started to catch the front arches.

I run Dunlop sp sports 195/40s and its not caught yet, -60 at the back and a little lower at the front on coilovers

Mine rubbed on the inside and outside with 45 profile tyres on. Doesn't rub now with 40 profiles on but rear arch lips have been taken back and front wings rolled. My car is majorly low though.

Also had to remove some off the CV joint and the rear dust caps.

vaughanmc

Mine's isn't that low so hopefully I shouldn't come into a problem...

So the only mod I should really need to do is remove the wee dust covers ?

Benn

Yes and cv trimthe end of the cvs.
Depending on tyres with the arches.

vaughanmc
07-07-09, 09:07 AM
How do you mean trim them mate, what with ?

I knew there was problems but I didn't think I'd have a set of these wheels this close to a major show lol

Benn

Get a saw and cut a few mm/threads off the end. 5min job.

all nova beams are off centred. most novas iv had or seen have more clearence on one side. they'l fit though, if not just roll back the lips.

and let nova, ur nova is looking well nice in that pic a few pages back! loving the black sides with white wheels.

They went on with no problems - Just removed the dust covers and they went on fine :)

Benn
07-07-09, 04:32 PM
No rubbing? (might need weight in the back)

vaughanmc
07-07-09, 07:02 PM
Not had it out a drive yet - Theres a mile of a gap between the rim/tyre and the arch lips

The inside looks to be clearing the shock as well...

Benn

Just need to double check that there all tightened for the road down to Billing and I think I'll remove the centre caps as I'd hate to lose one

Lee H
07-07-09, 07:41 PM
How would you lose one? They clip in really tight.

vaughanmc

if you loose it you loose it.

think you can still buy replacements from wheelbase

vaughanmc
07-07-09, 09:51 PM
You got a link ?

Benn
07-07-09, 09:53 PM
They are 25 quid each. And only come with the newer crap silver badges.

I picked up a bend rim just for the center cap as a spare...

vaughanmc
07-07-09, 09:55 PM
Couldn't see any centre caps on that Wheelbase site...
