were is the best place to put my ecu when fitting a 2.o 8v inside?/ outside?
i think my mates was around by the fuse panel by steering wheel his was a 20xe motor
mines on the lower shelf under the fusebox, makes for easy removal too no chance of it starting without it

Inside mate
Try and put it behind the dash somewhere? maybe take the glovebox out and put it behind there?
Not hanging down under your dash/sat on the shelf under the dash

Well some cars have it inside and some outside but i had the choice i'd put it inside = dry :thumb:
P.s i just emptyed my PM box lol
If you dont mind extending wires you can put it anywhere you like lol, Mine is on the lower shelf due to ease of access to it and makes it easy to flash the fault codes.
Dont fit it in the bay unless its designed to be, any water/damp inside a ecu could bugger it!
seeing as they fit fine under the bonnet from new for about 15years, thats a good place to put it

A Nova GTE or GSi has a moulded plastic casing. Most ECU's I've seen on 2.0litres are metal & usually come from the interior of the car. I'd keep it inside tbh. My 16XE one fits on an Spi holder above a mk2 glovebox. Out of sight.

i left mine in a bag with a cable tie around it in the scuttle panel for a few years and was fine but it should reach inside the car .either shelf under dash or a couple of bolts in the side under the bonnet pull
