View Full Version : Bucket seat side mounts don't sit straight
What the hell is going on here. New Corbeau bucket seats, new 3pc alloy side mounts. L brackets are straight and 90 degrees. Mounts are bolted directly to the seat.
Only one of them lines up, the rest are either twisted in/out and/or slanted.
Pics are on one slab, assumed straight.

it looks like the plastic thing for the harness to go through in the way
either the bucket is twisted or the bracket. warm and reshape, do not over heat em...
How do the upright bits attatch to the lower sections ?
They fit using two 8mm nuts and bolts through the holes horizontally.
I've tried without the plastic harness bit on and it's still mis-shapen. In fact the one that lines up is the one with a harness bit on.
Can't see how two new buckets will be twisted? It's a case of the way the bracket sits against the seat isn't perfectly vertical.
So you haven't got the bolts fitted in the pics ?
If not then get them fitted and tightened up, i'm sure it'll all pull together fine.
iain in those pics are the mounts bolted to the seats tightly?
They weren't mega tight but nipped up. I've managed to mount them by bolting the upright sections to the rails and then bolting them to the seat. I guess this is what a normal 1piece mount would do anyway.
All on and seem to be ok, I've used a washer or two between the mount and the seat to give them a chance to bolt in straight without pressing against the seat. :)
I guess this was a stupid thread as I hadn't looked in to it properly
not stupid at all as you wont be the first or last person to get confused by the problem.
