I made a hole :(

I was under the car last night and found a small in the floor so being a **** i started picking and made it bigger :(. Its about the same size as a dwarf hamster now. My mot is on friday. Is there any quick fix then sort it properly after? Will it fail if i leave it?

i like the fact you compared it to a dwarf hamster....made me smile that.

why not try and stick some filler on it and paint underseal over it? or just tack wled on a metal plate and again paint it.

id think that as long as its coverd up and cant be seen you should be ok to get it through its mot as the tester isnt allowed to start taking things off of the vehicle iirc.

if none of that is available fibre glass it, i prefer to do that then filling a hole with filler, its really for dents and body work not holes lol as its not strong as all and you could punch it through fibre glass is fantastic stuff and just paint over it and it wont look like you did it

yup, filler won't be good on a hole as the first thing the MOT tester will do is poke his "Corrosion Detection Tool" (or, to you and me, "****ing big screwdriver") straight through it.

Fibreglass filler FTW. I have a few pots worth of it under my boot filling up holes. Not tidy, but its solid.

usually a small bit of wire emsh will do the jobbie, to hold the fiber glass, but anything really until it sets

fiberglass paste is good s**t! i piled it on and it set rock hard in about half an hour. Needs painting now cos its bright blue! lol
