right here goes. ive put c16se in 1ltr shell,,, asked a few questions before about ecu wiring,,,, but got sadly confused by all that so binned it for a set of weber 40s told it was plug and play..now after spending an arm and a leg im told i have to wire in the ecu because the distributor is electronic,,, is there no end to this hell??? there must be another way or have i just blown a load of money for nothing???

you can change it over to cav dissy i think and that should run it without ecu

You need the mini loom for the coil/dizzy. Hence why sr dizzy's aint worth much without.

Hi-if you have a distributor with the orange cap and it is a 3 pin type you might be able to get it to run-I'm running a 1.4 on carbs with a 96 corsa 1.2 ecu+loom.Maybe the loom you have is the same.Off my ecu there is a small square plug with about 7-8 wires. On the car side of the plug the wires you need are red(heavy cable) permanent live,black-ign sw live and an earth. The rest of the engine loom I have still connected to the ecu-the sensor plugs etc. Before I cut the loom out I checked for a spark at the sparkplugs as I unplugged the sensors. As I said if you have the loom and ecu it might be worth a try-provided the wire colours are the same...
