Hi

I had the idea for years to own one the rare Nova Sports. But as they are really hard to get and as having a RHD car in LHD traffic is not that easy lollol I decided to build a LHD Replica. During the last 2 years I bought the specific parts (carbs, manifold etc.) and waited for the day to get the right shell.
In September last year, I found it: an '85 Base model, polar white, with 1.0 engine, genuine 32.000km and NO rust at all!!!

There was a major scratch on the left door and rear panel and a dent on the front valance, so I got the valance and the complete left side repainted. The rest of the paint got a 3M polish treatment, so that it looked nearly as new

I did not want to rebuilt the shell completely as I wanted to keep it as original as possible as the factory stamps on the underbody and suspension parts are still visible. Just gave it a good clean, stone protection paint in the wheelhouses and Liters of waxoyl

1.0 engine and gearbox were removed, interior completely stripped
13SB engine with 82.000km was rebuilt and fitted with the carbs and gearbox

Interior fitted, I found a NEW!! front carpet without centre console holes :D:D

Fitted new genuine B-pillar vinyls and thx to Rich, got the repro Sport decals.

Carbs need to be adjusted and then I'll get the car mot'ed.
And I need to get some decent UK rear lamps fitted lol

Cheers

Its a credit to you, dont know where you get the motivation from for these builds Hmm, good question, do I have to answer that without my laywer??? lollol

Well, my job is all virtual work, and as I have to create something you can see and touch, I'll work on the cars or the house. It's for the equilibrium lollol

Looks spot on mate! I'd love to own something like that

Did it cost you much to buy the shell then convert it to Sport spec ?

Hmm, I have not yet added all the expenses. I paid 790 Euros for the complete car.
for the Sport parts, you know how much they are worth.
Plus the powdercoating of some parts.
Plus some engine parts for the rebuilt
Plus getting the left side, the bumper flashes and the wheel covers painted
will surely not be less than 2000 euros

vaughanmc
17-07-09, 10:29 AM
More than £3k do you reckon ?

duick
17-07-09, 10:34 AM
did a quick calculation, should be about 2500 euros.
I had the interior, engine and suspension already from another car, so that kept costs down a little

Ahh right :) Nice one

You'll need to get it over to the UK next year
