Hi all.

i need to check how long it has been from receipts etc but i THINK im due a plug and lead change

what leads and plugs should i buy?

obviously none of this 100000BHP from a single spark plug nonsense

not gonna pay over odds for the same sparkplugs that somewehere else under an own brand sells for half price

just want good qulaity stuff.

it needs to be good because of engine setup and is for a 1.4SR with mods

Your not even thinking of going standard?

Most expensize/Most you can afford has always worked well.

Mike, I used genuine Vaux plugs in mine, no probs at all. I had the NGK 4's before and the car ran shit. As for leads, genuine ones are approx ?50! I had no problems with factor leads. ?15 for a set. I doubt you will see any gains with splitfire etc on the Nova.

the most populer plugs would have to be bosch super 4s, but i dont know what your veiw is of them!

i was told to stay away from splitfire plugs and leads as they are utter rubbish and corrode like hell!

have you thought about magnecor 8mm leads with NGK plugs?

leads are about ?50 i think!

magnecor are good but pricey. iv never tried performance leads but NGK Rs seem to do the job well.
Vuax teckys say they run crap and not recomended, thern they recoemnd using vuax plugs, magazine results show otherwise

choosing plugs is the same as choosing an induction kit, all near enough the same, its just personal choice!

if you want a better ignition start, then go for the leads, wont make a big difference, but still...

Well U've probably herdt his before but go for BOSCH Leads they're really good and try NGK R V Grooved plugs.

I got them at the mo on my 1.2 Nova and together with the K&N and the leads I can Idle @ 350 RPM's and the engine dnt cut out!

AMAZING innit!

NO lie but giv it a go, probably cost ya about ?45

i'm running BOSCH Leads and NGK R V Grooved plugs on my 1.3SR with Twin 40's. Run fine with no problems, personally don't think you notice the difference between any reasonable plugs and leads.

on a similar topic, when i got a new rocker cover for meself off a cav the other day i knicked these clips that go along the rocker cover bolts and they hold the leads a TREAT - you know them plug divider things them big horrible metal ones? same principle as that.......

engine bay is well tidy now i done that and also sorted my crankcase breather problem
