Alright folks, couple of mot questions

1993 Nova 1.5TD

Is a none working rev counter an mot failure?

How easy will it be to fix? Is it likely to just be the wiring or loose plug/earth?

shouldnt be as not all cars have them as standard, the only issue i can think is that BECAUSE your car has it as standard then it might have to work, for somethings like that removing it is the easier option when it comes to MOT

such as a flat spare = fail

no spare = pass

if you get my drift!

not part of an MOT test mate,
if it fails on that ask the tester to show you
on the computer or in his manual where it states that
a faulty rev counter is a fail.
good luck with the test mate

Thanks again for the replies, hopefully the car will sail through as to me it looks and feels great and I have done all the checks I can (with my limited knowledge) to make sure it is ready just to get tested without any work needed. Fingers crossed.
