as i got the car 5 months ago a standard 1.4 sr.

lowered it and changed the wheels not to everyones taste but i like them

then decided i have a while before i sort my licence out so a good rebuild and bigger engine is needed.

so will be putting a wanted add for 2litre up

so started to day pulling the car apart more pics later

then took all the fiddly bits out steering rack, suspension units etc ready to go to my uncles to get shot blasted and electro plated :)

then started cleaning up the bay of the body protection shizzle. what a bitch that is to get off (any tips)

picked up engine today :) out of a mk3 cavalier

2.0 8v

then picked some bits up from my uncle who electroplated them for me.
the quality is really good considering i used the origional parts

and whilst on my travels i seen this in my mates which was kindly swapped for some bike tires ):

took out my heater center and molded it not conmpletley finished yet eventuallY i am going to get this and the dash flocked

thanks lads umm went for the 8v because tbh it was available at the time an been told there a stronger block.

todays work welding finished and took a few more biths to be chromed

tomorrow paint engine bay and keep looking for a top mount ...any one have one?

then put some gooey stuff to make the bay smooth and look neater over the welds

whilst having a dig around behind underboby protection i found a hole so me bein me i poked it and ended up with this ..

and darcy a local lad who does a lot of conversions is sorting the wiring out for me :)

left it there over night untill i received my mounting kit from chrisastley.com

then fitted it properley but strut brace will not work :( soo need another

sits too close to the inlet manifold

just leave the brace on. then you wont need solid mounts.. lol

good stuff mike, will be a beast :thumb:

chop the brace and re-weld it with a bump to go around the inlet, save u a few quid.

i got the exhaust sorted finally today, cheers.

Can you not just put the brace on "the wrong way round" I done this with mine on my XE!
