I'm looking for the dimensions of the roll cage as shown below (Nrd 1-5)..

I work for a specialist steel fabricators so i thought why not have a custom rear cage fabricated that is different from the rest. However to make life a bit easier i need the above dimensions to help get the correct bends etc. The rest of the cage should be fairly straightforward due to being straight pieces.

I know it won't be FIA approved but the car won't be used for motorsport.

It would be much appreciated if someone with an OMP or Safety Devices cage could measure it up for me.

Thanks, Tom

why not take the measurements from where you want the feet to land in your car ? that way its spot on as cages manufactured by different companies may differ ?

and the lines between points 1 and 2 dont make sense to me ?

I've attempted to take measurements from the car but its easier said than done. I also thought that doing it this way would guarantee it fitting.

Sorry my diagram isn't that good..

Nr 1 is from the base plate up to the centre of the 1st bend

Nr 2 is from the centre of the 1st bend up to the centre of the top bend.

My SD cage will be out of the car for painting soon. I could take measurements of it for you, it won't be for a couple of weeks though matey.

problem with cages like the OMP and SD cage, you always have to slightly help them into place they dont just sit in exactly the correct location....

no 2 cars are built the same, same goes with the cages...

you could end up making it completly wrong....

ur best bet would be to build it as you go...

rallye_matt - If you could that would be ideal, or you should be able to measure it up with it still in the car, that would be even better

I'm only looking for these dimensions as a guideline to get me started. I'm going to build the rest as i go along.

Thanks
