Seeing as we have a Brown Nova collection I thought it would be nice to see how many Parchment Novas exist.

Here is mine when I picked it up:

She was kept a very closed secret for a unveiling at Billing, however I had a very large setback at the unit which mend I got set back about 10 days solid  So she won't be ready, but here are a few taster pics before I set up a proper progress thread:

The tunnel has a raised section on the passenger side allowing the exhaust to run along side the gearbox to extra clearance. Please excuse the welding on the drivers footwell, my welders transformer was dying. We switched to a new welder after.

The whole car is being built by me at JADE performance in Northampton, the owner Jamie has allowed me to rent a small corner and also the use of his tools. He used to build hot rods for a living so knows exactly what the nova needs to be able to handle a RWD setup, his knowledge has been a great help. He has allowed me to build this car so he himself can get an idea of the work involved in converting such a car so he himself can offer this very conversion to his customers :) Jamie has also been able to help me a few times to speed things up for Billing, but now it's out of reach I decided to let everyone have a look over the net instead of in the flesh.

Awesome project mate simply awesome. And them Steelies look sweet.

Always wondered how good they'd look on a Nova after seeing so many new Astra's parked outside the showrooms wearing them wheels.

Steelies FTW.

Can't wait to see this finished dude.

Alright chap, no I haven't managed to find any yet. A member on here offered me a set for £45 but I think as soon as he posted that he changed his mind because I pm'd, emailed and posted up on the thread saying yes I 100% want them and he ignored me lol

Serious stuff going on under there johnny, nice to see its far from run of the mill.... super impressive!

Has the bonnet been offerd up yet? as the engine looks like it will be awfully close to catching in this pic (and the previous)

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j125/Johnnyaspec/DSC00387.jpg

does it clear? or is a bonnet bulge planned or is it a 'ummm.. il fix that when i get that far!'!

EDIT

after exploring ur album, it seems you have picked up on it...

can u get around this problem by sticking a bonnet bulge on it? if the engine is sitting high you may not be able to get a "pretty" looking bulge? car looks well sweet though

pickle
25-06-09, 02:47 AM
http://www.classiccarriageco.com/truckhistorypics/1957a.jpg you may need a bulge like this. lol

~~joycey~~
25-06-09, 03:31 AM
Awsome! :D

Sloth
25-06-09, 06:47 AM
wow! sorry to nit pick, but id have thought the diff would need some more bracing than that, ie 2 bars running forwards?

Johnny A
25-06-09, 07:14 PM
The bonnet is getting a slight bulge.

As for the diff, when the car is 100% done you can nitpick (i.e its getting more bracing connecting the rear frame setup to the tunnel skeleton, but the car isn't finished yet)

Sloth
25-06-09, 07:16 PM
sorry mate i didnt mean it in a bad way.
