did the head gasket on my 16sv yesterday got it running and after 30 seconds clatter clatter clatter it decided it only wanted to be a 7 valve. had no valve spring compresser so thought would try my luck with another head from the scrappis i work at took one form a 2000 x reg 1.6 single point astra, the only difference on the head was the bolt for the dizzy was not there but the hole was and it was threaded lol.
its up and running now again just didnt think they would be the same with that much of a year gap

i think its very informative thread now we all know that aw06 is a ****, and that a 2000, x reg, single point astra head fits on a nova.

that could help some one out like above

He is happy he's fixed his car and pointed out that later heads fit the earlier blocks with no issue. I dunno, maybe he thought he was being helpful?

Easy fix, thats why he had to tell us... It could have been a hefty main dealer bill on something newer & with an owner that cant tell a spanner from an oily rag.
