putting a 1.6 in my nova next week, scraping together aload of bits for it.

one thing im not sure about is the alternator, my 1.2 jobby is 55 amp, i also have a 1.4 jobby @ 70 amp. any idea what a 1.6 is supposed to be ?, and if it makes that much difference ?

i originally wanted to the use the 1.2's 55 amp as its in better condition than the 70 amp 1.4 unit, but havving doubts about whats supposed to go with what ? if that makes sense :)

Won't make any difference. As long as all the mountings line up and the pulleys are in line.

Cars with monster ICE are always going to be candidates for the highest current alternator that will fit, but if you are not one of these you are fine.
