They are rubbish, slow and really heavy on fuel. I had one 18 months ago foe about a year and ended up swapping back to an XE Nova!

Which model? ST165, ST185 or ST205?

EDIT: Defo not a 205 with that that year group then.

hmm ill have a rip in it to see wot its like then , its not standard and its gotta be better than my 9-10 mpg i was getting from my old cav turbo lol

A cav turbo you say eh, so where would this beasty be going if you get a celica or have you already gotten rid?

got rid of the cav a while back :( i wish i had kept it as it was mint! but i could not justify £400 a month running costs !!!!
ill see if i can find my pics of it ;)

Something wrong with Cav turbo if it was doing that mpg. Used to get 16mpg out of my Celica, grossly overweight.

Looking for an engine out of one at the moment to put in my mk1 mr2 though as speed and economy would be far better in a car half the weight of the Celica.

not a bad bus, but they have a few nasty engine issues, the plain fact is, get one with as low miles as poss, in as std as poss condition, and look for fsh. coolant changes every 3 years and sub 10k oil and filters are a must. any more info pm me. 89-90 should be a very early st185.
