A wheels offset is determined by the distance from the centre of the wheel to the rear of the bolting plate. (see the diagram above)

For any individual alloy or steel wheel, ET and Offset both have the same meaning and value. The term ET originates from the German word 'Einpresstiefe' which translates as 'insertion depth'.

can probably confuse a few people on ebay asking what the einpress teife of their alloys is, specially as most get confused if you ask them what the offset, PCD, or even diameter of them is lol
