1800 Ecotec Small Block Gearbox Questions

Ok,

1. Will the Nova small block shafts fit the X18XE1 (?) Small block 1800 gear box?

2. What box is it? (F?)

3. Can the hydrollic boxes be converted to Cable Clutch?

3. yes, somehow, quite tricky. i just use a f15cr

Anyone know how to convert it to Cable operated? I know it can be done on F18s. Reason I'm asking is I want to use this box with a Big block and still keep my small block shafts.

Just use a f13/15 box...... Much much simpler solution.

you cant use it that way round buddy, bell housing are tighter your flywheel/ clutch cover plate will hit on the inside of the gearbox :thumb:

i know of at least 2 friends that made the same mistake an only realsied until they had turned the engine over :cry:

Yes but if you use an Astra TD Flywheel and clutch it all fits nicely iirc. Theres a local lad thats done it a few times with great sucess although the F13 and F15s wont handle XE power in a good thrash, hense the F17 being a little stronger.
