New Project

This is my first ever project. Bought this back in 2006. It was a 1.2 then got fitted with a 1.3SR which is now out awaiting fully seam welded, full respray in white with a pink pearl, fully wax oiled and a 2litre 8v going in.

Sold it a month ago. Hopefully it should be finished soon, getting started next week

the shell was totally solid when I bought it, went to the other side of Manchester to get him. As you can see the arches and the doors are looking a bit worse for wear, both doors will be getting replaced and the arches will be getting rolled to stop scrubbage.

Well I hope all goes well with him. Its gonna be alot of work rubbing him all down. Going to surf the bay tonight and buy paint, strengthening kit and other stuff that I need

id watch with the ebay piant tbh one of my friends bought it for me to respray his civic for him and was pretty disapointed in it if you have got a local bodyshop id ask them for numbers of suppliers etc and compare prices that way you know its decent paint

My Dad was speaking to someone in Aberdeen I think who currently has an L reg Nova GSi...and used to have a 2.0 8v 'SRi 130' engine with 40's in one of his old Nova's and he also used to have a Nova SR...

The guy said theres quite a few about up that end...?

How much was the pearl?is it pearl or?

Only pearl I've used is in a 3 stage system.

The pearl was bought from America and im sure it cost £23 it was flip pink to midnight blue, my car has been resprayed 3 times within the last 2 weeks as pearl came out patchy so needless to say the car is back white.

Nice thread Amz good progress on the Nova. Will deffo be a different looking Nova and will go well with the SEH. Has to be one of my fave engines, simple, reliable and goes well.


Its gonna be alot of work rubbing him all down.

Cheeky, what started off as meant to be a 3/4 week job has taken around 6 months. Im actually started to loose interest in him:( << never thought I would say that, EVER

saloonwoody - no decided not to go for the pick as it was too patchy in the light and didnt look very nice so decided just to do it white.

Nova Tek - got the carbon vinyl from ebay for pennies good quality aswell

Sorry Iain just realised your comment. Nova is doing fine, parked in the garage along side the 2 new additions to the family. Not got a turbo engine yet but im hoping Santa will be nice and bring me one. Ive got until March to get one and get it fitted. Was looking at your project thread there......love it :)
