this may be a stupid question but i am looking on advice for tunning my e16se.
i started reading graham bells four cylinder tunning book and it says to ask what people have tryed and tested so i am looking for people who have done a full engine build not just a cam and exhuast.
and if anyone has read this book what do they think of it because this man talks total sence in my eyes.

I agree headwork on mine was worth the cost/bother.
I had enlarged inlet valves & flowed ports from Bill Blydenstein (sadly now dead), but try cylinder head developments or somewhere similar.
Get your injectors cleaned & maybe find a fast road cam to use. No gripes with my Piper, certainly gave the engine a really deep tone & revved a bit better.
i could do a head for you.
pm if interested.
can send over pics from xe/lets, small block xe's, yb's etc etc.
stampy54 or stampy_54 has had 2 c16se heads done by me. if want honest opinions. or check profile on mig(philip2) for feedback
also could go for cam, 40's, headwork, decent manifold/exhaust, arp rod bolts, so can take revs higher and safer than with the stock rod bolts.
i tend to do alot more 20xe/let builds, but do heads for alsorts of cars:thumb:

how much would do head for???? ha ha sorry
how much does it cost and what does your work entail?
i read through this book and it says that everyone works the hell out of head work so the head is capable of reaching higher rpm. but people over look the bottom end.
so the head is capable of doing 7500rpm
and the bottom end is only capable of 6000rpm
so you are more than likely to blow the bottom end
i already have a piper cam and pulley, 4 branch, 8mm leads and full free flowing exhaust system with de restricted cobra back box.
i cant remember who it is but someone on here has had there crank and flywheel balanced and i wanted to know if that help there rev range and did they get there pistons and rods done aswell???????

Balancing will in thery make the engine last longer and rev sliighty better, IMO its well worth doing if your going all out on it. IIRC its not cheap tho.
i paid £120 for my crank, crank pulley, bottom pulley, flywheel and clutch cover. im running steel rods and slippers, which are balanced to within a gram of ech other, so i didnt need to do them. but im using 8.5k:D
def worth doing imo
