Sorry, simple answer, wont work.

Major diff is that one is multi point injection and the other is single point.

arent the 1.4 corsas single point?

He asked about the SRi. I'm pretty sure the Corsa SRi is multi point, but on a Nova board, asking about an SRi, I assume he means Nova, which is definately multipoint.

the only solution then would be to get it chipped, but surly it would be worth it?

Get hold of the latest Total Vauxhall and have a read. It covers this stuff.

i just thought, the mk3 astra merits are a single point, my stepdad had one (until he traded it for a vectra v6) could the ecu off that be used?

Ok, there are plenty of single point injection lumps in the Vauxhall range, I doubt there would any benefit to changing. Try using an injector and TB off of one of them. You might need to change the manifold too. Adjustable fuel pressure will help.

all it might do is alow for more fuel. but you will need to upgrade everything else before hand to see any differnce. if you could get 1 that was compatible and simply put it in with std engine it would be bad as it would probably overfuel

si it is possible to fit a 1.4 spi ecu, but only iff you upgrade the cam, injector, manifold and induction?

dont think so

Changing the ECU won't benefit you even if it did work.

Concentrate on increasin airflow through the engine. Zorst filter, get the Throttle off a bigger car such as 1.4 or 1.6 spi, then increase fule pressure. Your ECU should cope.

Extra power comes from getting more air, and the ECU cannot do that. Once you have the extra air, then play around with fuelling.
