205 gt dosen't turn! but it kept ur ass back on the bypass! and there was 2 people in the 205 and just u in the nova, and u did have powerflow exhaust, k and n, 4 branch manifold!
but my poor car had 156,000 miles and thats it but it still kicked some nova arse!
later i rest my case!
i mean how many nova SR's have beaten a 220 gsi? the pug rises to every occasion, whatever the rival...
220 gsi - M335 FTF are you gutted or what mate? a shit 5 door 205 pushing u along?

Back to the original question - I like the nova so much because of it's styling... I just love the look of it.
Yes they rust, but with a little extra care you can prevent that.
I have had three nova's, I still have two of them and also have something French... a girly clio - and I have to say driving the clio is horrible compared to the nova. Yes the interior is a little more refined but then it would be it's a newer car isn't it... but for pure fun to drive... I have not driven anything more fun than a nova, and I have driven lots of different cars from novas fiestas and the like a a 2litre 16v turbo saab and a 2.5litre v6 rover and plenty of other stuff in between.
So - thats why i like nova's... now stop argueing about performance, its pathetic, you are like a couple of five year olds in the school yard.

Nova, first launched in 1982/3, so it was designed in the 70's.
70's = Cool Styling
Cool Styling + 75bhp + Blue Stripe = Quick, Reliable, Good Looking Car.
Thats why.
Ive had/drove loads of different cars, at the mo im driving a Ford Escort Cab, I like that coz its more roomy than the nova and its cool in the summer, although I have come to the conclusion that ford engines suck!
But...
I always end up back with a Nova, they can be made very quick for little money, spares are easily available. We have a good crowd on here and have a laugh at the shows etc. Some of the other groups at the shows seem well snobby and very unwelcoming!
To me life is to be enjoyed, I enjoy driving my Nova aswell as other cars.

novabum-novas are great cos of the ease at which you can fit any of the range of vaux engines, 2 litre 16valvers, 2litre 16v turbos, the turbos can be easily tuned to be over 300bhp. my na 2litre valver is only runnin around 170bhp with just cams/chipped ecu and i have no probs canin most cars in this area. dont mock the nova just cos ya dont like em, as others have said, the styling is also clean on novas, and the rust problem can be kept at a minimum. mine is on a j plate and has mint bodywork/mint arches/mint doors etc.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
go away you tit
Hey i dont even own a nova any more and i still think they are great....
Anyone who puts a saxo/clio/gt/205 ( ) on a pedastal above a nova is dreaming...
All mass produced warm hatches, but the nova is the best of the bunch.
Thats from years of experience driving many many cars including all of the above.
Give it a few years......wait for the rust to start appearing on the aforementioned cars.....
F*ck off back to saxosportsclub/cliolovers.com/205lifotoffoversteerclub and stop clogging our boards with turd.
all cars rust, not just novas, thee only reason why novas are usually in a bit more of a worst state thaqn other hatches is cuz its older, quite simple really!
novas are kewl, they have beefy arches of which you can sqeece a big wheel underneath it, and the great thing about vauxs is that you can easily drop any engine into any vaux with a bit of easy modifying, a cruise isnt a decent cruise with out a nova, they are popular, they are everywhere, you cant escape them, quality little cars with so much potential, yuo can do so much to them!
ppl get imbarrased when they get beat by a nova but claim that they beat the nova, when we all know it was the other way round, imbarrasment is its own enemy!
with novas, you could think it was just a 1.2, when really, it has a nice 2.0 valver hiding underneath, but you wont know it!
Best hatches on the roads
happy day!

Go away u Muppet
the s*xo is just a rip off from the 106 as they are the same car, i think the ax has the same chassis as well, typical french, cant even design a decent car, utter rubbish!
id prefer an english car than french cr&p anytime!
Chris LR

106 launched in 1992, so Saxo/106 platform was designed in the 80's lol
The French know f-all about building cars, New Renault any1?
My ma used to have a well nice 205, but look at the pros to conz mate,
DIY
205's and any other frech fried creation are b@stards to work with as you have to take the engine out to do most simple stuff!
comfort
Yeah yeah ok the 205 is possibly more comfortable seat wise, but common youv got a foking meter long gear stick! might as well be a transit! your sitting miles up in the air, could be land rover.
looks
I dont realy need to say much do i....novas are just simply evil and easily modified! Quality shtuff all round
Performance
comparing engine sizes like for like the nova rules every time.
Rust
yeah novas rust a bit at the edges, but any one who actuly looks after there car can sort this piaca pish! 205 rust is also quite common!
Ride
Suspension is like being on a bounsy castle!
CONCLUSION
novas are easier and cheaper to work with , there quicker and look ton's better!
i presume the saxo' and axs etc are the same but i cant speak for them.
...dont ask me why i took the time to write all that, lol what can i say i had some time to waste, normaly i would call that time wasted trying to prove points to critix.
I aint gonna bother! not worth wastin my time over! obv just another jealous p***k!
i cant fit in a paxo lol  damn my tallness

o.k my engine is standard and the car has done 156,000 miles. its nippy not fast. But people who think there the dogs with there 1.4sr nova and gte's are having a laugh. people say nova will beat that 205 because its modd'd but show me 1 gte or sr that has beaten my 5 door shed on wheels.....
Not one, and show me a A or B reg 205 with rust? i don't think so....
sorry but if rob's nova can't beat the shed on wheels, i don't think theres much that can (except engines that wern't made for the nova)
sorry if i have offended you but im sticking up for the french council... here here!!!!!!

the gt engine is the same as the xs i believe in which case the only reason there are so nippy is because they have ridiculous gear ratio's, my mates xs was quick but ran out of steam at about 90-100 mph. He also went through 3 gearbox's because of the mad gear ratio's

Sorry did you say Clio's dont rust!!?
http://www.carsurvey.org/review_25766.html
"The rear arches on all Clio 1's tend to be prone to rust, mine have just started to get very small bubbles on the very edge of the arch..."
http://www.carsurvey.org/review_25644.html
"The drivers' side wheel arch is beginning to rust..."
... and these are 95/96 Clio's!!
My new 2.0 8V Nova would thrash the pant off ya...!!
And my old 1.4SR would've beaten you too (top speed of over 125mph).
Anyway lets see a piccy of your rusty girly Clio, so we can all have a laugh...????
My m8's clio is in a rite state, he looks after it, but just rusts!

well all i gotta say is I payed ?50 for my pug. And it hasn't let me down yet, and i can hold my head up high and say i haven't been beat by a nova yet. The gt had the same gearbox as the xs but the citreon ax gt had a even closer ratio, which is my gearbox. as the engine has been changed over, from a ax gt.
I can't see any rust on my arch's... il admit i got a brown little mark on the roof, but i t-cut it out.
when u get rust from the inside of the car, its because theres been a leak from the inside! like that gti pic u got. its been leaking inside the boot and the waters had no wheer to go. happen even with a new car
laters
well..all i can say is:
FOOL!!!!!
get a bloody nova, THEN MAYBE you can criticise

Ok lads! I know this Pug 205 that is spoken about.....It has got a 32/34 on it.....engine is from AX GT...he dont know how fast it gets to 60 cuz the speedo dont work....Wheels spin cuz of skinny tyres and no grip...cant corner cuz of same problem...car feels responsive but I was catching it on A435 but it was raining so I didnt want to pass. I know I can beat XR31's, XR2's and my mates RS Turbo (CVH engine is soooooo pants..read my other post about the "225 BHP" RST Cab)...I will challenge the car again and I might post it up.

i'm not gonna start slagging off any other types of cars - i have driven all sorts and apart from a couple of fiesta's not driven anything i didnt like something about - a pug 205 included... it was quick off the mark but thats about it really.
lets face it, if you have a transplanted engine and a different gearbox and 32/34 then you are not driving a standard car and cannot say "oh i will not be beaten by any standard nova" as you are not in a standard car.
thats like CP saying he will not be beaten by any standard nova while he is in his 1400...
Now play nicely children, behave yourselves.

are you having a laugh! It was still on choke and there was 2 people in mine. And by the way if u note that a standard ax gt comes with 32/34 carb anyway. also with the same gearbox.
If u was catching me so much why wasn't u passing me? I was only doing about 70mph.
But anyway enough of this bitching!
i had good news today, i got a induction pipe which is 1 metre long and is 7 cm diameter. the pipe goes from the carb to anywhere in the engine bay. I have put it infront of the engine right next to the sump. what you think?
I have still got the standard air filter after many debate's with k and n's cone filters, i hate noisy cars!!
i have been told that it is easy to fit a set of twin 40 dcoe's with mininium hassle, with an old maestro inlet manifold. The cam is lumpy enough already
I have also been told today from my well known mechanic that a closer ratio gearbox would be even better. he told me to:
use the gt gearbox,
leave first gear standard,
peuegot performance can get me a closer ratio 2nd and 3rd
leave 4th gear standard
use the 1.9gti 5th gear
that sounds expensive! Im going back to the french boards now to leave u vauxhall boys alone
salut!

French cars aren't rust free. And I would like to say, french cars have the worst electronics in the world (Equal to italian). See with a nova there is nothing to go wrong deu to the simplicity of it!!!!!
all cars rust, but novas are judged on their mk1 1.0 b-reg little brothers, which old codgers drive, considering the nova is up to 13 yrs old, he hasnt done too bad for itself, its still a populer car, cheap to insure and cheap to run, not many things go wrong with them, put even then, all cars break down now and again!
novas are just beasts, i love everything about them, but mi seen as a typical boyracer due to my age and the fact that i own a nova! which is a very small minded and pathetci view!
so much can be done to novas is beyond believe, "you reckon its a 1.2? bollox mate, its a 2.0 valver", thats what you can say once youve beaten some a$$wipe off the lights!
no one will admit they got beat by a nova, its too shameful for them, their gf would finish with them and their mates would dis own them, but lets keep that quite, shhhhhhhhhh!!!!
jelousy is its own worst enemy!
but have you noticed that? i have, lpenty of times, no one will admit they got beat by a nova, but will happily bull$h!t and say that they beat the nova that really beat them, lol! its pathetic and sad!
