I have removed my gear linkage from my rally car with a view to rose jointing it. I hesitate to start cutting it up before i'm sure it will improve the feel accuracy of gear selection and won't have too many teething problems. I noticed from the guide that there were problems with fouling on the gearbox casing and bolt heads fouling the rose joints, how are these avoided?

Also what is the shopping list of parts I need and where is best to get them from?

Thanks chaps.

i think with the bolt heads fouling gearbox - go for those female allen-headed bolts, like on bucket seats-to-seat frames fixings..

This, pretty much is the shopping list:

Two M8 female RH thread rosejoints
Two M10 male RH thread rosejoints
M8 thread (just like a long bolt with no head)
Four M10 and four M8 spacers (or however you want to give the rosejoint enough room away from the bolt heads)
A few M10 nuts and bolts (x20mm/1" length?)
Grinder to cut up original linkage
Drill to make holes for the new rosejoints to screw in to
M10 thread taps for above holes
