Currently i have a FP ecu in my redtop nova, and have been given a GX ecu that is stickered up as being an irmscher performance one.

Im using an early wiring loom, and have NO lamba. The car is the dizzy type 2.0 with the early cosworth head.

Can i use the GX ecu without the lamba, and is there anything that will need adapting (thats if i can use the GX coded ecu).

Any help would be appreciated.

Their both motronic 2.5

Ah, i was told that the irmscher was like a chipped/mapped jobby, so being a better one to use.... i take it that was wrong info then?

Whats the difference in the irmscher performance ones then?

Its plastered all over the front of the ECU, genuine irmscher sticker with : irmscher Performance ECU Part NO. ST1290031......

Then theres the normal Bosch GX sticker with all the normal numbers on..

I tried googling, and came up with something about resisters inside being changed, but i dont know much more about it.

If i was to try it just for a laugh to see if it does do anything, would i need to earth pin 20 out to fool the ecu into ignoring the lamba? or will the ecu not work at all/?
