Some of you might have read my wip about the troubles I've been having with fuel pumps.
I had an R1 fuel pump for running my bike carbs on my c20xe, it ran perfectly but the pump let go, and I'm now running a facet solid state 40106.
Spec:
4.5-7psi and 32 gallons/hour rated up to 150hp.
Whats peoples opinions or experience? It was missfiring at pod and felt sluggish.
Thanks,
Chris

Think you need to be running less than 4.5 psi mate but I'm not sure, it's kind of what i've been looking into.
IIRC Tom Reid's 1400/1200 (whatever it was) was running 3 psi. Dont know if thats relevant to your XE

Chris, I've a redtop pump that will supply the engine with more than enough fuel, however, if the pump you have was not supplying enough fuel, i would have expected to see the afr go lean at the misfire area.
I could be wrong of course, you can have the pump to try.
Opinion?

I was busy all weekend and promised Linsey a car free weekend :(
Its running 3psi now, I'll take it out for a spin tomorrow evening when I get in from Javelin coaching and see how the afr is looking. The prob was last time, I had to set the fuelling at 4psi to get the afr's up as at 3 it was leanish. Missfire seams better though at 3psi.
I'm thinking it's a flow rate problem, I'll come back tomorrow with some figures :)
You also had to crank the pump up to get it to hold psi didn't you? I forget exactly what you did to get it to stop dropping at WOT lol

didn't need to crank to get pressure, its an electric pump. it dropped slightly under load but it was Runnin 4psi to get afr. will have a play tonight
Thought you adjusted something on the pump to get it to hold 4psi? Or did you turn down the regulator?
