ill buy one next weekend, only £85 on the bay lol
ill buy one next weekend, only £85 on the bay lol
For a new one yea? I can get you a smaller pulley made too, the Mini geeks go 15% smaller for road use, 17% smaller for track/ hard driving use! Some use 19% smaller pulleys but it is known to fcuk the charger if you havent got a works charger.

lol, **** knows that % it will be, the multi belt pulley is comming off and a V belt welded on lol

The Eaton M45 will do well on a 1.6 16v engine, don't forget to treat the roots blowers like turbos and add something to cool down the charge temps (FMIC, chargecooler, aquqmist etc...)
Or how about just be normal and either:
A-Fit a XE, job done ;)
2-Fit some bodies/carbs or something to the 1600 ;)
Rather than trying to do something that you know you either wont finish or will implode the first time you put your foot down...????? ;)

how would a manky old diesel engine give you big thrills.??
its gotts be the charger, if you think it can be done, but im afraid i only see fail.
See slater on retro-rides forum; he is 'the ****' when it comes to fabrication and mechanics and hes not sussed a charger on a ford lump just yet.
N20 maybe?

well, you could always try? or buy an old sh1tter of a bonnet and then cut it up and try anouther?
only a thought like never seen anything like that done to a nova so thort it would be a mad idea mate:thumb:

What is there to suss out exactly? A roots blower is far simpler and easy to install that a turbo.

He may not like the clattering agricultural noise, short gear ratio's etc mate. A friend of mine also reckons you should not be able to get a diesel cabby (A4, 3 series) as the noise from even a common rail spoils driving experiences. I can slightly see where he is coming from, but they aren't sports cars so why would it matter?
The diesel R8 is another matter though. lol

im guessing you havent read many posts in this thread
they sound ****
also you would get bigger power figures from a let!!
mate ive driven all kinds off diesles through my years being a mechanic and tyre/exhaust fitter and now i valet at range rover i drive range rover sports daily diesels sound crap and ruin the whole driving experience of a car imo!!
im not not botherd about mpg or any of that sh*t mate as stated earlier id rather have a 1.3 on 40s than a 300 bhp diesel!!! when i want big power ill go let!!
Charge it baxter, anything is chargeable, its easier than turbo, and by the sounds of things youve got your heart set on doing it so we all know its going to happen anyway, just dont nail it, and get your mum to hide your hammers/grinder lol
Charge it !!!!
Then if it works I can do the same !!!
