mate has a saab 900 turbo and its cutting out at idle, and runs fine till you put your foot down and give it some, and then it seems to have a fuelling problem... any ideas?

ahhh i know what the problem is :lol:

Your friend shut get some realy good car insurence and putt the car on fire :twisted: , blame the nabors and colekt his insurenc money , :wink: buy a opel or vauxhall car and newer have any lame idiut proplems.... 8)

but he cud also get the engin adjusted so thats fixed sell som smokk the car and buy a opel or vauxhall 8) and be happy :wink:

Yes well he could do all of that couldnt he... but then again - he might not want to - he might just quite like the idea of fixing his saab.

I know and you know that he would be better off with a vauxhall - but each to their own... so does anyone have any idea of how to actually solve the problem without using petrol and a zippo?

SAAB 900 Turbos have a seriously complicated injection system, that was designed in the seventies, (when the air was clean and sex was filthy).
Get an independant specialist to look at it .

Been talkin to phil g and we reckon its probably the turbo on its way out.


Mate is takin it somewhere tomorrow.

chris W found he had a crack on a part of his turbo assembly somewhere.......

he had similar problems, wel IIRC his car would run and idle fine, but the boost werent workin like it shoud?

it might be that its sucking in fals air.... chekk the air lines and mixtur lines , if there are any rubber hoses..... change them they cud bee crakt. my unkel hadd that problem with his....

hey you never know it cud bee chek it out!!!

My mate is takin the car to a local garage that specialises in european stuff - so hopefully they will get it sorted.
