Is this only needed when using ECU/Management? As if so I may as well leave it off as i'll be using the old skool dizzy ignition to run with my carbs

yes it wont be needed as even when you get it set up on a rolling road they should have there own det cans which magneticly stick to the engine instead. keep it tho incase you go the 20th century route later on:p
