As there is a huge difference in pricing!

The reason I'm looking to buy one is i seam to a have a split in the seam on mine and it's leaking fuel wen filled over the join.

all depends on what tank you have on now scott, do you run an external fuel pump like a gte does , if so then you need the first one ,

if you run and internal mpi one then its the 2nd one lol

I've got the external gte fuel pump and tank on mine. I've the first link. Can you see the sender from under the back of the car or from under your back seat?

The sender wont be under the rear seat NBC, that will be the pump on a SPI.

Carb tank would work but GTE/GSI has the swirl pot inside.

Might need one then, as i cant be arsed to spend money on bodging mine with metal putty to try cover the split in the seam!

weld yours?

Thats more hassle then it's worth mate.

To do so you need to drain it out, then fill it with sand, as over the years a tank absorbs some of the fuel, so even if you think it's empty and clean the vapor and gas will still seep out of it and it could explode like a bomb!

I'm going of some one's advise on this, as they have seen some one loose an eye! :(

I have personally welded a fuel tank, as long as it has somewhere to escape its fine, it will not explode.

obviosuly it was drained out and off of the car.

First one, although many years ago an old friend managed to make the other one work by blanking the top hole up and playing around with the pick-up pipes inside.

I've known nova tanks to have rusted seams after less than 10 years (the one above was an 8yo GSi), in fact I've just had to replace the tank on my vectra (13 years old) because it'd effectivly turned to ultra-fine mesh through rust. I wouldn't bother trying to weld one that had rusted, there will inevitably be tiny pinholes here there and everywhere that'll still leak.
