right im rebuilding a gte it has no engine at the moment i was wondering what 1.6 or 1.8 bottom end i could fit i have the 1.6 gte head and manifold :thumb:
most 1.8's are big block, smallblock 16v ones (like peester has) are a better idea, why you would want to fit a 1.6 8v head tho?

so i can use the standard 1.6gte inlet/ecu/loom that i have to keep it standard
It wouldn't mate up to a smallblock 18 16v block anyway would it? I mean with water pump/belt etc. I suppose maybe you could use astra mk1 1.8 8v mpi block but its big block so more work. I'd just source another GTE bottom end (thats if I'm right btw lol)
