rite one thing i can never understand with ebay is that when someone list something with say 5 days to go or more, why the hell do people bid with 5 days to go, surley its just bumping the price up, and if people want a good deal they should wait to the end to get the best price, reli gets me as i see some cars with agggeeeees t go and like 14 bids ?!?
rant over :p

yep lol you summed it up there lol + rep for that. just gives us porpers no chance lmao
Errr well if it has bids in the first day or so then you know its going to go for a lot, or somtimes that bid will only be a few pence more than the starting bid.

I tend to think of a max price I would want to pay and put it on even if it's been on for an hour or I find something with 2 mins left. If I loose it so be it but if I win it then bonus. :) it just makes it more fun.
i sometimes bid what ever the time left is, i dont realy see why your bothered, you have your price your happy to pay, you bid and maybe you win
many a time ive bid early and got a bargain

i think of a max price and bid with 3 secs to go. i just wait on the confirm bid page and click using the ending time and the clock on my pc :thumb:

you never get good deals on ebay any more, people dont want to sell stuff for a price they dont want, and bid it up themselves,
cant blame them though but damn it i want cheap stuff.

I've been getting some stunning deals in the last couple of months, but it takes strategy & a bit of luck..
I sometimes bid early & quite big on items simply cos I might be going away for a couple of days & won't get near a computer.
sometimes I bid early to scare other bidders away, cos they don't want a fight.

i picked a twin weber inlet manifold of there for £10.50 3 weeks ago so there are still bargains to be had on there even if they dont come up that often.
I think most of the things ive bought on ebay for the last 2years have been bargins. Never paid much at all (apart from my wheels).
A lot of the time i have to be honest, if i see somthing with a bid or two on i leave it, knowing that it will go up a lot, but saying that, a few bits ive bought latly have had bids on and ive won them by a few pence.

Not best to advertise on here the fact you only paid £10.50 for the inlet and then try and sell for £60 on here.

also if the seller has little or no feedback you can get bargains as people dont like taking a punt, at the end of the day thats what ebay have buyer protection for.

I ain't saying that's there's anything wrong with making a profit but surely you don't advertise the fact you bought it for X number of pounds to a place then sell it in the same place. he'd have been better not advertising the fact he got a eBay bargain.
I would have to go with NBC on this one.
Doesnt matter when you bid on an item. You pay what you deem it to be worth. If its won for less, well done.

agreed. I put a bid on about 5 mins after something went on. We knew what we wanted to pay so simply bid that, and we won it 5 days later. Jobs a goodun.
almost everything else I try to "buy it now" as I CBA with the whole bidding thing, its no good for impulse buys lmao

one thing i hate is when theres 2 items the same and one has 1 day to go and has 0 bids and the the other 4 days to go and has 5 bids WTF.
Yep seen the same brains.
And i have to agree with stu, impulse buys are great when its a buy it now, auction i just cba to wait for.

Ex. works '98 Mondeo BTCC rear spoiler £20 last week :D
Usual price £2-300.
I'm a 3 seconds to go guy too, I stick my max bid in then. If I lose then it's OK as it's all I was willing to go up to, if I win then bonus, plus I never bidded it up as is always the chance even if I stuck my bid in with 15 secs to go.
