Would they cancel all the main events tomorrow if it's totaly rained out and waterloged?
Just thinking ,as none of the entertainment that they lined up for the strip will be on etc.
It's been raining for 12hr's+ here and im less then an hr away:roll:
Hope it's a bit better tommorrow.

I just didnt want turn up on "the main event day" Sunday, and most people have gone home due to rain, or they call it off just as i get there! lol that would be gay!!
God the weather really is crap! And its well cold out aswell.

just weather checked and its got to rain heavy and be more colder tommorow but its starts too clear up around 6pm today and then comes back about 2pm in morn

just spoke to santa pod and they said that the strip will be cancelled due to rain and the monster trucks will be the only entertainment as its non weather dependent. You can also walk round and look at the cars and get wet lol
Ive just spoke to Burgo, he says its not to bad at all really, just a bit of a mud bath so meh, im packing up now an setting out in about a hour :D spur of moment "fcuk it" stylee.
EDIT: BTW lads, if your gonna go, id take some warm cloths, itll be fecking well cold later tonight.

but I had no intention of going....
the last time I went was for a fireworks night spectacular!!!!!!
the first car down the strip was a jet powered funny car... Oh how we laughed when it blew up & melted the tarmac.....
so off we all went to the monster trucks, and watched the jcb forklift pulling it off an old escort cabrio that had beached it.....
the we all legged it round for the drifting, and it was over by the time we got there.......
in fact, the only truly entertaining bit we saw was this troupe of 'edinburgh festival style' fire jugglers. one had this thing on a chain with flames coming out of it & he was wazzing it round his head. then he walked forwards & managed to belt his girlfriend on the back of the head with it......
then we queued for 3 hrs to get out...

I was going to go down for the weekend but have decided fuk camping in a flood lol, Will just go down early tomorrow, I have been told the weather isnt too bad at santa pod just drizzling :)
FYI, Currently dry at CP's farm which is 5 mins from Pod. Looks cloudy at the mo, but could turn to rain later.

think im going to pull out aswell. should of meet all my people at half 6 this morning n convoyed down, but i didnt get in till half 5 this morning, so im not going to bother! my mates who are there now say the weathers not too bad but **** it im going to go night fishing im not botherd if it rains then im fully geared up for it.
i might just go and meet people at the entrance as i need to collect quite a few parts lol

this entire thread and all those that wouldnt come because of some rain makes me really laugh (and a little angry).
Why would you buy/waste money on a ticket when theres always a 50%+ chance of it raining (we live in the UK people - its always raining somewhere!)
Despite the typical nagative "doom and gloom" weather forecasts we had 2 afternoons of really good weather! We got pod burn! We also got a little drowned but we had an absolute laugh in the process!
The track weas open - yes there were delays due to mud issues but nothing more/less than the tractor going up and down clearing off engine bits and oil (tractor seemed out less this year...and for alot less time too)
The Jet car was out both days and the Victor/funny car were out Saturday (Victor damaged his crank Sunday hence not being there).
Ste Porter qualified for ten of the best and came 3rd! Technically he came 1st because the winner was a mini with 2 2ltr engines (cheat) and the 2nd prize was a fecking HUGE OZZY Ute Maloo (basically a Commadore V8 with a flat bed!)
So from a "genuine" Vauxhall stance he won!
Billing is the next show and come rain or shine PLEASE come along - we'll have the PNG marquee (a big one), a BBQ and much more besides.
Let's PLEASE stop creating posts about the weather!
Faiing that we'll set up a weather forum so you can all "discuss" it in there instead!

Am jealous of Spud now who slathered a ton of lip salve all over his - wouldnt let me snog him though to share it!

Ade i only created this topic as i was left in the dark as to if anyone would be there by the time i came down on Sunday, and i was ****ting my self to be fair, the drive down was horrid and then when we got near to the pod we saw line after line of car leaving etc, we did start thinking oh dear....
But as i said when i arrived, don't worry everyone i have heard the weather is meant to get better about mid day and be nice later, a few people looked at me like i was taking the piss, but soon enough out popped the sun!
And i think that is the best show i have ever attended purely as it turn out so nice, and the volume of people pushing shoving was low as lots left..

As Scott said it was an ace weekend overall, I might have my faith in PV restored for next year. Definately worth staying later in the day, it took us 10 mins to get out, I barely got any mud on my car either, so I'm happy.
