i read a while back i think, that you shouldn't have 6x9s with subs as the bass cancels itself out or sumthin, and was told to get some bass blocker things, anyway where do i get these???

if you are powering your 6x9s you can just have a high pass filter on them this is usually done through an amp. This will stop bass going to them

The big problem is also that the big air moved by the sub pushes against the 6x9 cone. This distorts the sound from them and degrades the overall quality. This is why we shouldn't put speakers the the shelf in general... but as above 6x9s are worse as they are trying to provide the same frequencies.

what ive done to try overcome this problem a little is to buy two ports, usually used for sub boxes, but what i intend to do is put them where the standard rear speakers are in the parcel shelf supports, will help a little bit of air escape anyway

also they will look better than the grille catching shite as it is at the moment!!!

ill agree with the air space theory

you drive or even listen to the radio with your seats up or down and a sub in the boot, you see the difrence!!!

i drove with seats down for a way as i was carry some sheet metal to make some mats and sommat else (which reminds me i still ent done!)
