The standard gauge is playing up so I am going to put a stand alone gauge in, I dont know if its a sensor or what the car heats up the fan kicks in then stops then kicks in like normal, the water is'nt boiling out of the header tank or anything like that, the car is going to get tracked so I need to keep my eye on things.:thumb:
The adapters size from 32mm to 38mm

you can earth the temp sender wire and this will test the gauge by showing full on the gauge

My gauge shoots straight up in a matter of 2 or 3 minutes when engine is still cold
Change the standard sensor, there about £5 iirc.
change the thermostat. and probably the fan switch

I've ordered some new gauges to fit in a nice pod on the dash.:thumb:
it could be that the thermostat is sticking, causing it to get hot really quickly.
