alreet chaps!

Im going looking at an astra van tomorrow night, possibly with intent to buy, the vans MOT is up at the end of the month so abit  as i really don't know much about engines! But it has got a cat back exhaust?

is there a difference between cat back and a de-cat?

AND will it pass its m.o.t emissions!

Thanks in advance!

Cat back is from the cat back i.e you keep the cat.

A de-cat removed the cat with a straight through pipe or a small silencer.

As for will it pass? Crystal ball time lol

Cat back should pass in terms of emissions, as the catalytic converter is still there doing its thing.

If its louder, the tester could fail you on noise though.
