the only diff on the engine and wiring is the plug on the bottom of the dizzy has three wires and my old dizzy had only two i have connected these wires up the way i think they should be + to + - to - ground to ground

i hope i am wrong in this and that someone has done it before and knows something lol thanks

you mean coil...... Dizzy is the thing on the end of the cam that acualy sends the spark to each cylinder.

What were the 3 wires? red, black and green?

no there is a plug on the bottom of the dizzy that has three pins

1. black with a stripe(not sure of colour now)
2. black with a stripe(not sure of the colour)
3. starts of black the goes to bare wire wrapped round the other two

my old dizzy had a blac and red wire that went into it the black is live.
these wires come from the rectangle plug that connects to the coil.

i have cut the black and red wire from origional dizzy and tried connecting them to the new wires on the new dizzy but cant get any spark at all.

am i able to put my 1.2 cam in the 1.6??
would it fit?
would it lose power??

if i could switch cams over then i could use the origional 1.2 dizzy

1.2 dizzy is a slot type
1.6 dizzy is a pin type

Get pics of what you already have, why didnt you use the whole 1.6 setup?

will try get pics up tommorow didnt use full 1.6 setup as the coil had already been removed from the car the engine came from.

i have lives at the coil side of things just no spark which i think may slow down the car a tad lol

Been doing some research and it seams that the engine requires the hall sensor to create a spark the box that is the rev limiter best thing to try would be an ignition system of a 1300 SR using the dizzy and coil as the black dizzy (Delco) has the ignition module built in.
