OK, so I was clean for 5 months, 5 months I tell theeee, but I've fallen well and truely off the wagon :( It's an addiction that I'm not going to bother trying to cure anymore, just going to live with it!

Just how many Nova Project started out, one of the first pictures I think lol

I repainted my garage floor very quickly in preperation for some new tyres
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q161/neocapture/Project172/neo0001.jpg

Now for pics of the car, see how many pics down it takes to realise what is is, this is how I pretty much picked it up

Interior has been semi-stripped, with the addition of a Cobra Evolution bucket seat
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q161/neocapture/Project172/neo0002.jpg

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q161/neocapture/Project172/neo0003.jpg

Along with a pair of 3" 4 point Willans harnesses
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q161/neocapture/Project172/neo0004.jpg

It has a OMP 320mm steering wheel, complete with no horn lol
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q161/neocapture/Project172/neo0005.jpg

Still guessing? Now a give away, a slightly/ very grubby bay currently
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q161/neocapture/Project172/neo0006.jpg

Uh ho its French! Yup, Rexy's old Ph1 RS Clio 172, paintwork is alreet

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q161/neocapture/Project172/neo0007.jpg

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q161/neocapture/Project172/neo0008.jpg

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q161/neocapture/Project172/neo0009.jpg

So it's:

2001 RenaultSport Clio 172
2.0 16v
Max Powahhhh Induction kit, with CADs instead of fogs
Cobra Evolution
2x Willans 3" 4pt harnesses
YozzaSport Exhaust system with decat
Brembomax 280mm disks, with Ferrodo DS2500 pads
HIDs
Rosejointed Quickshift
and also got a alloy bonnet, which is uber light thrown in aswell.

First impressions, I must say, are that I don't know why I didn't do one sooner, they pretty much perform from out of the box, very little been done to it, and I'm very chuffed.

On the shopping list that isn't allowed to be, so far, is a set of GAZ Gold coilovers, and a diff :)

Thoughts would be nice, however I can imagine them being negative due to it being of the french variety lol

Hope you enjoy the thread regardless of its race, religion past, background and colour :D

Thanks for all your nice comments about Piére lol only kidding, it doesn't have a name, and if it did, it'd be female lol

Didn't think it'd take all the pics for people to figure out what I had purchased.

For the lovely price I paid, you couldn't build a Nova to match it's performance, in neither acceleration or handling to be honest.

I must say that having sat in the Cobra Evolution for 2.5 hours on the way home from BTCC @ Oulton Park yesterday, I do actually prefer it to the Corbeau Revolutions that I was used to, but they're all a much in a much-ness!

I'm in talks with a couple of people about buying some race-spec ex Clio Cup car coilovers, which'd be nice, along with a plate diff of some sort, maybe a gripper... and another seat, maybe not a Evolution, but we'll see.

Oh, and on the lookout for some more 15s, so I can purchase some A048R's, and get a trackday booked within the next week or so :D so if you here of any, give me a tinkle :)

Very cool. Shame its french.
But knowing you it should be a tool!

trackdaynova

lol cheers Ben :)

It's currently weighing in at 940kgs, and if it has the 172bhp it should have, the power to weigh ratio is 182.97bhp/tonne...

Quite a way off the 270bhp/tonne that my Nova was, but hey, we're only in day two :D lol

lol already been looking at the throttlebodies haha

That GAZ kit is the silver kit by the looks of it, the gold kit is apparently better, just not sure how - still researching bits and bobs :D saying that, thats just front coilovers, and independant rear spring & shock

these seem to be cheaper, £448 delivered, and coilovers allround: eBay linky (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GAZ-SHOCK-RENAULT-CLIO-172-182-Coilover-Suspension-Kit_W0QQitemZ180354752267QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Car sParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item29fdfb1f0b&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C 240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50)

forget the above, I don't get it...

GAZ Golds are £920... and it stipulates in the auction:

"Please Note. Telescopic Rears Not Coilovers, Rear Height Adjustment Achieved By Lowered Springs And GAZ Adjustable Spring Pans Supplied"

(eBay ad for Golds (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GAZ-COILOVERS-FITS-RENAULT-CLIO-172-SPORT-SUSPENSION_W0QQitemZ310067574231QQcmdZViewItemQQpt ZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item483177 b5d7&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C 240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50))

You just couldn't help yourself and stay away from fiddling with a car.

Great choice as they are so good straight out of the box, and a few mods should you flying round a track again.

I cant wait for another one of your epic wip's to sart again.

Nice purchase, rear won't be on coilovers as its on a torsion beam.

Gaz Gold iirc are bump and rebound adjustable.

If you can just buy x race stuff thats within your budget as its although used is FAR better than any off the shelf items and tbh in some cases probably cheaper !

Conisidered a sequential for it yet LOL
