help needed.

I have to drive with my choke out constantly cos if i dont my car cuts out when i stop & or chuggers....

I got told it will be the igitions system, so have had the plug leads, dissy cap, & rotor arm changed. the plugs did'nt need changing. Its firing on all 4 plugs as I have checked.

What could be the problem? :(

Have you checked the mixture screw ?

No. how do i do that?

It depends what carb you have. Basically, you'll have two screws somewhere around the base of the carb. One is your idle, the other is the mixture screw.

Ivd got a standard 1.2 carb. think its a pierberg, but could b wrong?

Is this an easy enough DIY job or am I best taking it to a garage to tune?

Should be easy if you can find the screws. Haynes will help. Although I said it's the mixture screw, it could be something else, carb clogged up with sh*te etc.. etc.. Someone cleverer than me will know for definite when they have the car in front of them. Another give away is the colour of your spark plugs, again Mr Haynes will help here.
