converting turbo to external wastegate??

hello, i bought a turbo a while back with internal wastegate as i was intending to run internal gate but ive now changed my mind and id like to run external as there better and will free up abit more room in the bay etc

but i dont want to part with the turbo really and im just wundering if its possible to adapt it somehow so the internal gate can be kept shut so i can then run a external gate

any help would be much appriciated

Could you not just get another exhaust housing ?
You basically need to jam the penny valve shut, replace the actuator with a bracket and threaded rod, like a duumy actuator.

both very good ideas but im not sure it would weld as the housing will be cast wont it??

Seat for the valve should not be cast iirc. What turbo is it?

Aye, i'd say you'd be as well to get a new one as well, could always sell your internal gated one on ?
What size housing is it ?
