rang round for some insurance today on my new 1.2 merit. i tried Sky a coupla days ago and managed to get a quote as a standard car at £390, and considering i'd been quoted £450+ everywhere else i was chuffed to bits. i had some spare time at work today, so i tried a few other company's as a modified car (1.3 engine, GTE brakes, lowered, exhaust and alloys). trying to insure as a second car, garaged, TPFT and limited mileage, no NCB to use but clean licence and no bumps.
started with Brentacre, friendly, helpful, managed to get a "power policy" where i can pretty much do what i like to the car so long as a)i tell them what i change and b) the flywheel BHP doesnt exceed 80 (not hard!) £580, which i dont think is too bad.

then i tried Flux, mileage to 5,000 a year, like for like on all mods, £490.

guess which i'm going for ;)
