Bloody hell not you aswell, there's 2 lads up here that have them, i thought they look pretty cool
Bullet proof engines :D
Finally . . . . Something i wanted to hear, thanks Jack :thumb:
Standard they are not quick but from what I believe they can tuned quiet easily, mk1s are a lot nicer but rust worse than Novas
good capable cars, look for the usual turbo issues, and knocking bottom ends. the epas fails, usually the relays, but they aint cheap. they eat tires, think 3000 miles a set....most have been modded or thrashed. look for crash damage too. they handle excellently, and are quite comfy. look for service history, either toyota or a specialist, and avoid sub £2k ones.

what drugs you schomking?lol
None. Get a rev3 3SGTE powered one and you should be fine.
if you do get one and want to tune it dont go to the wayyyyyy over priced fensport
ive seen rev 3's kill bearings at 80k miles plus. and i agree with burgo, keep away from fensport. oh and make sure its had the ecu map checked, a sthe jap ones sometimes are set for 104 octane fuel, and have a 112mph limiter.

a mate used to have a mildly tuned one and it was a realy nice car to drive, and dint half shift when you hit the loud peddle
Had plenty of mr2s in the family. There fun, i have to say that i prefer mk1's to mk2's, but like said, they rust.
You could inport a mint one but not worth the cost.
Catch me on msn soon andy, wink wink lol
I'm looking for one at the moment but only to donate the engine to my mk1 mr2.
Mate has a rev 3 one with a t67 turbo on and boot mounted intercooler, tis quick if a little gay looking.

My mate had a N/A mk2 H plate. Was terrible in the wet, has to slow for motorway bends....
The engine was rebuilt and 35k later the head went but guess that's prob whoever rebuilt it's fault.
Sounded nice at redline though.
Chunky side of 200bhp for relative little money TBH, I was looking at getting one myself but its far to impracticle for what i need.
So is the general feeling that there pretty good then?

Well yeah, if you wanna go sideways into a hedgerow in the rain, get one.

They are an excellent track car, and yeah you do have to take it steady in the rain as they can bite!!
My brother is well into his MR2's and we run a MR2 Magazine, www.mr2only.com (http://www.mr2only.com)
We have a MK1 Track car, can be seen in some of my pictures tucked up in the garage. We are currently breaking our MK2 track car.

mine from last year. didnt have it long but for the price they look the part and can be VERY quick. i loved the driving position and everything about the interior. handled amazing and even though it had major turbo lag once it got going it pulled so well! started smoking though and with the engines costing similar to a LET i had to get rid of it before it cost me money
wouldnt mind buying another again, might go for a more expensive example though.
