Mm, no thats the V5 and DVLA. I'm on about declaring the engine replacement on insurance. You may find they charge you an extra few quid for that.
I know its the same engine, but they'll see it as there's a chance something has been missed or not installed correctly and cause risk :(

Yeah true...
Learnt loads today it's actually very simple but won't attempt 1st 1 on my own lol.
It's ok i can allways get my uncle to say he fitted it at his garage.
Not after posting evidence of you doing it on a public website with an insurance company as a sponsor you cant LOL lol
lol @ telling them the numbers changed...
we used to swap 1.8 104bhp avensis lumps under warranty, and not once did we change the v5 or tell the customer the new number. i told my old ins co. that i'd changed one 2.0 8v for another exactly the same, they told me they didnt need the number, as its the same engine design.

Where did I say insurance need to be told about the engine number change? They won't give a fcuk what the engine number is.
And either way its not up to the garage undertaking the work to inform the DVLA or insurance of an engine swap, thats the owners liability.

Engines in and runs... just need to find out why theirs no reading at the clocks for the temp... i did check the little blue wire that clips onto the sensor but think i'll buy a new sensor and try that tomorrow.
Also the fan aint kicking in and does work because i bridged it again to find out.
More problem solving tomorrow me thinks.

The rad fan is problery the switch dead, mine was the same.
Put the temp wire to earth and see if the gauge goes off the scale...
If not the wire is broken somewhere
