I was wondering if anyone can tell me how i can test to see if im getting vacume from my vacume pump... its a 1.2 st engine

Fuel pump? or the vaccum advance?

Pull the pipe off with the engine running and stick your finger over the end, should soon tell if it's 'sucking'
or a miti-vac will give you a reading. Think thats what they are called, might just be a brand name
to test if the vacuum advance retard mechanism in the distributor is working, simply pull the vacuum pipe off at the carb end & suck it. if the engine noise changes, then the mech works. if it doesn't then the mech diaphragm is broken.

Tryed the test mowgli....the engine note didnt change. Thing is its a new dizzy and vaccum pump. can you still get new vaccum pumps
if the vacuum advance didn't work, then the 'new dizzy' should be returned for a refund.....
i don't know if gm do the part any more, i haven't had a delco dizzy since 1992
