We are one of only a few companies who will

1) insure engine converted cars
2) insure cars with roll cages
3) mirror your NCB

On that basis I am confident our price is very good!

haha thanks ollie

you would say your quote is good thoughlol

The helpful lady said I've got 14days, It's currently off the road which i hope to get on the road within that so expect a call soon

Strange though roll cages add to a premuim rather than take away being a safty device

Of couse I would say that, not bias at all!

Quote 'officially' valid for 14 days but unless we get a rate change it shouldn't be a problem up to 30 days or so.

Roll cages:

Cars with roll cages are crashed more

Claims involving cars with roll cages cost more because the roll cage spreads the crash energy to places on the car where the cage is bolted to (poor explanation but I hope you understand what I mean?!)

There are more personal injury claims associated with cars with cages due to the cages being left exposed so people bump their head on them etc (again poor explanation but you know what I mean)

Depends who you insure with, both companies my cars are insured with didn't add anything on for the cage.

cages save people hence making the claim.

i think i know what you mean!

if you have a cage fitted, then you have a crash, a front impact is transferred through the cage and to other parts of the car, so in this case it would be the rear, with the rear arches possibly deforming, meaning more re-work or a scrap & twisted shell.

also cages are designed for use with bucket seats, harnesses, helmets & padding, so if you only have your cage in and standard interior then you are more likely to hit it in a collision (ever seen the crash videos when they are testing air bags and how much the standard seats & belts let you move, now imagine a metal bar, instead of a cushion of air).

added to the fact that if you have a cage you are more likely to feel safer whilst pushing your car and the looks of a "rally car" = more likely to steal = higher premium.

think i got it
