Think me and my mate were quite lucky to both walk away from this with minor injuries

Thats how I landed, in the middle of the road

How the hell did the sub land there with no visible damage!? lol

Lucky to get out though, could have been a lot worse.

Adam*D
25-05-09, 06:15 PM
I 100% have no idea how it happened, although speed was a contributing factor. The passenger side suspension has totally collapsed, bottom arm has vanished so I don't know if this is why I crashed or this has happened in the crash if ya know what I mean. All I remember was driving allong quickly, then the next thing I was upside down sliding allong the road with my head thru the windscreen. We both had to climb out thru the rear screen

Holy f**K, how have you got out of that alive??????

We had to push the car to the side of the road (still on it's roof) then had to push it over onto its wheels, my mate came and picked it up with his recovery truck. Police, paramedics and ambulance turned up and none of them could believe we got out and walked away! Lee was sat having a fag and I was sat drinking a bottle of pop that had rolled out of the bootlol didn't even get breathalyzed!

I am very sore and aching, I't my own fault tho as I walked out of the hospital as we'd both been waiting for over 2 hrs without being seen:roll: My head and feet are both full of glass but I'm sure the wife will enjoy inflicting a bit more pain pulling it all out for me:cry:

No idea why shoes come off in a fatal but still....lucky :)

I did tell the copper I was doing 29mph tho lol TBH I couldn't have wished for a nicer cop as she wasn't interested in how it happened or how fast I was going, she was just amazed that we were both stood up and walking about. Dibs on the fr & rear seats (yes I'm a vulture)

i'd like to know what failed tbh. very lucky it wasnt on a busy road...

Worn bottom ball joints are a common(ish) fail & would result in the fr suspension pretty much falling away.

How come you not claiming on insurence as a matter of interest?

Best he doesnt tbh. Any further policy's will cripple him after the broker even hears about this let alone pay out....

Still don't know where the bottom arm ended up! lol
Anyway, started butchering the car today. Engine started 1st time and runs mint! someone's coming to collect it tomorro so that's a little bit of money back. As for the interior, the drivers seat is in pritty bad shape (no blood stains tho lol) someone told me it's possible to unbolt the 2 halfs of the seat and straighten it out or just remove the covers as there not ripped???????
Insurance Thanks for someone going to the hassle of checking my car out! YES it was on the logbook as a 2.0 16v and YES it was insured as a 2.0 16v and YES it was taxed as a 2.0 16v, as for claiming it's not really worth the trouble. If the insurance had taken my car away I'd never have got it back as it's probably a cat A. They'd value it at £2k if I'm lucky minus my £500 excess I'd get £1500 and a loss of no claims plus I'd have a crash claim on my insurance record for the next 3/5 years. This way I get my car back to break (I recon there's close to a grand left in it) and recoupe some cash without any comebacks when I go to insure a VXR ;) lol

What about a half rollcage or pulling lots of foam on the bars to protect your head?

Half cage is pretty pointless unless you just want to save the passengers that don't fit in the back any more... mate of mine crashed his race car and smacked his head on the cage, even with a helmet and fully harnessed up etc it knocked him out cold and he was advised not to race the next day, if you're not in all the proper equipment a cage is gonna kill more people than it will save imo

You dont need a automotive breakers license to buy back a crashed vehicle from your insurer. (Hypothectically if you made claim)
