Ive been just being generally lazy and browseing the forum and not posted in a while some of you may recall i bought another shell as YXI is beyond repair and the shell came at a very reasonable price , progress will be slow as i have been working as many hours as i can to fund this nova im a refrigeration engineer and work anti-social hours so i dont get on the net as much as i would like too .

manky old nova flair interior was quick to be removed as i had a more appropriate sr interior from my last car . Nath

first time the car has seen a bit of light from 2003 iirc il check the old tax and mot

http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc149/boyle_46/DSC00372.jpg

after a wash down to remove all the grime built up on her

http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc149/boyle_46/DSC00364.jpg

was nice to see an un-used spair wheel and tool kit in the car

http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc149/boyle_46/DSC00358-1.jpg

so far i have G3 the whole body and plastered the doors and boot corners with wax oil the colour has come up well i shall add pics later showing my results , im happy but it shows up imperfections in the car little dints but its to be expected the cars over 20 years old

i then got in contact with a boy from larne who hill climbs novas and bought mark one headlights and one piece front bumper and grill and snow plough i think i got a good deal as some of the clips are there and the screw caps are also present , i plan to have the car looking early sr-ish YELLOWNOVASR has a mk 1 wrap around spoiler for me also i think it will look well on my plain early tail gate

ive also fitted a volt metre in the blank for the clock as it will be essential as i plan to have some subtle audio equipment and a slimline ps2 purely for san andreas lol im a big gamer so i think it will be cool .

until the next update folks Over and out ! ! ! Nath

http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc149/boyle_46/DSC00394-1.jpg

starting with the g3 , i dont ever want to do this again my arms are like arnie after a good few hours im too manly to use a buffer or is it that i dont have one lol i borrowed a friends to do the rest i redone the bonnet as it also came of the saloon in the previous post

heres before the wash and cleaning only picture i have off the front end it has the panel there to be welded im just saving to get it done to a good standard hopefully william can help me out if i get the money saved up

heres the cage in and the fia stickers on
http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc149/boyle_46/DSC00451-1.jpg

boyle_46

This morning i collected the car from Connors and brought her home and started putting the loom and plastic fittings back into the engine bay while the headlights etc where out i took the time to clean them down so they were as NEW looking as i could get , disaster struck when i tried to put all the bolts in for the passenger wing , the wing is a pattern one and is a terrible fitt anyone have any ideas on how to get it to fitt better ?

started off removing the bumpers lights etc and getting the engine over to the car

http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc149/boyle_46/DSC00606.jpg

had a few smoke brakes and pressed on needed to remove the wing so none of the paint was scratched

after alot of cursing and smoke n tea brakes it was fitted :D

http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc149/boyle_46/DSC00610.jpg

i knew there was 60 mm springs in it but really didnt realise how low it sat so put the plough on to see what sort of clearence i had from the ground , my street has harsh speed bumps the whole way up it so i was worried about scuffing lol also Jackie called up and we were talking about her nova and think she is on the look out for another :d

wow 5 months from ive posted in here basically from i got the corsa and written it off and now have the silk violet nova this car has been neglected , i started to rob bits off it for the silk one but have made a new list of plans for it and will be working on this car with my dad over the winter months so here goes

mk 1 snowplough
13inch revolution rfx's
sport style mirrors
four cibie spot lamps for the front
twin reverse lamps

i need to get some tiny things to put the car back on the ground and lift her off axle stands such as

new bearings for rear wheels
brake cylinder for rear
brake mechanism for rear
bulbs
gsi / sr airbox
fitt the interior back in

will do a bit tomorrow on her and update with fresh pics , trying to gather enthiuasm to work on her as its too easy to walk past and jump in the silk violet . Nathan
