Ok, assuming I have the base Nova (GSi) with welded engine bay, and a C20XE with F20 waiting to go in. I wanna know what other parts are best to get

1. Suspension - best set of adjustables?

2. Springs - where can I get the Nova 2.0 16v front springs from?

3. Manifold - make or buy the Manifold - Downpipe section?

4. Exhaust - is a 2.5" system really needed? Where from?

5. Inner CV joints - Cav 1600, ?40 each

6. Engine Mounts - best set? will they let me use three bolts on the gearbox? Do I need Gearbox spacers?

7. Induction Kit - Astra GTE 16v one ok?

8. Breather mod - worth doing first? guide anywhere?

9. Throttle butterfly removal - is it worth it? does it reduce mpg at all?

10. Radiator - standard GSi one ok?

11. Brakes - 16v discs and calipers good enough?

12. Lowered Tie Bar Mounts - where from?

Anything else I need to think about or buy? I wanna know how much it's gonna cost you see

Thanks guys

1. PMC's XE front springs (-40mm). Designed for 2.0 16v novas, althoug im still using gmax springs(60mm)and gas shocks and they are coping fine.
2. as above
3. mine is standard astra gsi manifold mated to a custom 2.5" system, not sure if this is needed-does sound good though.
4. " "
5. use a set of nova gte driveshafts, with the std nova outer cv joints. take the inner cv joints off, and you can use Astra / cav mk2 1.6 inner cv joints. these will fit straight on the nova gte shafts, and will allow them to locate in the big block gearbox. i used second-hand courtenay items-no probs so far.
6. prob best off getting some decent engine mounts tyo stop engine movement.
7. the astra airbox wont fit, you'll need a k&n or such like.
8. iv done the breather mod, helps idliung etc-good free mod.
9. not done yet so cant comment
10. standard rad fine.
11. yes, im running cav gsi 16v brakes and they work fine although i may upgrade to calibra turbo calipers soon with redrilled discs (5 to 4 stud)
12. i didnt lower mine, had to grind a bit of the metal away from the g'box-once its in you'll see where it touches slightly on the passenger side bar.

change the clutch before you put it in.
the engine should have an oil cooler-get a part from vaux (90144360-about ?3.50) to convert it to run without the cooler-u dont need it and its a hassle routing the pipes!!

4 got to say:
you will defo need gte or gsi fuel lines and fuel pump to start with,t i presume uve got a sr, so ur tank wont have a swirl pot-so you ideally need a gte/gsi fuel tank too. i am still running a sr tank, but you'll have to keep the petrol levels right up to avoid fuel starvation!

Yeah, I've got an SR, but am gonna buy a GSi to use as the base for my Valver :D

Do you know what make some of the things from above you mention, and where I can get them from (online or phone #)

Like, 2.5" exhaust, engine mounts? What make? Where can I get them PMC springs from?

Thanks

the exhaust i had made locally to me, if you post up in general chat asking if anyone knows of any places local to you im sure someone will help, or im sure you must be able to buy these ready made from some places-again im unsure, post that up too.
PVD (08708 500 600) do the engine mounts, and there are other places too, try www.raldes.co.uk/main.htm

you can buy the exhaust manifold ready to fit to a nova system from just novas and if you look on migweb brian s is selling the engine and gearbox mounts for the xe to fit in a nova for 18 quid each inc delivery. im also using gmax -60 springs on the front and they are ok at the moment.

Just been talking to me mate (the one whos gonna help me) He said we can just put the back on axle stands, then jack the front over the engine, get the under under the car, then lower it back over. Reckon it'll work?

I am not saying that method works - but i have seen pictures of this method in action in the past.
