Hey guys. I had the GTE out at Cadwell a couple of weeks ago entered in the Stock Hatch. There were 67 entries, only 2 of which were Novas! Only 28 cars could race in the final each day so I had my work cut out to get through the heats but I finished 22nd on the Saturday and 13th on the Sunday! I won class B (pre-92 hatches: 205s, Novas, XR2s, etc) both days too :D

The saturday one was a bit embarassing tbh. Only 2 of the class B cars (which made up 27 of the full 67 field) qualified for the final that day. I started 26th. Whilst running 22nd, on lap 4 I threw a plug lead and dropped a cylinder but carried on slowly knowing I was guaranteed 2nd place. I had been catching the other car (Lee Scott - Fiesta XR2i - 2-time Class B champ) when it happened but i just crawled round. After the race it turned out someone had taken him out on the last lap. LMAO

Sunday I beat him fair and square! 5 Class B's got through, but me and Lee were miles ahead. I dropped back to 21st avoiding a crash (had started 16th that time) but came up through the field, winning the class by 0.25s! :D :D

I have some video of the Saturday race (before the problem) and a few pics. Unfortunatly I had to give the camera back to its owner and didn't get sunday's race (go figure lol). Enjoy watching me and my endless struggle to find a F***ing gear! lol

Ok so this next one isn't from Cadwell, but its a good one of me from last year lol. (it wasn't intentional, but I held it well lol)

And if you can stand my shameless promotion anymore, this guy saw my rear end passing sh1tloads of cars after avoiding the early-race crash :D

I got the car last June and raced it since July. Its been a trusty steed, but it needs more money than I can throw at it to make it really special. Since I've had it I've had a rebuilt engine (South East Motorsports - just outside Reading ;)), a set of 2nd hand driveshafts, 8 replacement mirrors and an MBE management system (Dennis Vessy Motors - Barnetby). Apart from the cheap stuff I've bought off this site, I've wheeled and dealed my way through - Engine rebuild and management set me back just £1200! I think the engine is worth more seperate than the car is as a whole lol

It sits on some really old battered Koni's, but I can't afford to replace them. It has a good spring setup though :)

Bodywork is well dinked too unfortunatly. I had a pic up in a different thread of what happened when I got smashed from behind earlier this season.

Stock Hatch is highly recommended to anyone interested. Many of the drivers graduate to Clio Cup and the like, and it IS the most competitive club racing championship in the UK. I've driven the Nova against drivers from other clubs and beaten Civic type R's, Xsara VTS, Jaguar XJS and much more! 1600cc hatches dominate all! haha

If anyone is local to Angelsey, my next race is there! Its June 6th and 7th :)

Self and Nova when I first got it. Wish it was still that clean... :(
