Right where to start

this weekend me and gareth (gazsnova) have fitted an E16SE engine in to the nova and to it seems as tho it is holding back when driving, but when you floor it and get high up the rev range it seems to clear itself

by holding back i mean it seems as tho its not realeasing its full potentiol (sp?)
and when driving normal it sounds a bit like a scooby as if its not running on all four pots but we have checked and it is (also fitted new plugs, leads, dizzy and rotor arm)

the fuel pump we fitted was an in-tank pump from a 2l cavvy

any help would be great :thumb:

coolant temp sensor could be faulty.when cold it needs to run rich so seems fine there but sluggish when warm is like its over fueling which temp sensor could cause or maybe airflow meter mate

changed the temp sensor tonite-still the same

going to try running it with the standard air box on as there is a lot of heat from the 4 branch getting to the K&N and ive got a spare air flow meter worth a try :thumb:

Earth out the alternator body to the -ve battery terminal with some hefty cable & good ring terminals.

Is the engine, loom, ECU, AFM etc all from the same donor vehicle & known running??

ive got it booked in a local engine specialist and he is goin to set it up on his R/R so this should hopefully fix the problem

Sounds to me like the head is possibly cracked and as it warms up its expanding the crack and loosing compression?

the head was all checked and pressure tested when it was skimmed and ported
