I got a ecu fault code saying number 93 on my C20XE, looked at the fault code list and it said Low voltage to the hall effect switch. But the only problem is i have a Coil Pack engine, not a distributor type, so i aint to sure what it is, was thinking it was low voltage to the camshaft sensor, but anyone else had this problem? :thumb:

Sounds like the ECU might be from a dizzy engine

if it was it wouldnt run at all it a PL or a PT ecu there both Coil Pack ones. A dizzy type can be run with a coil pack ecu but and dizzy ecu can not run a coil pack

I remember this coming up before its cam sensor or something similar. do a search on it!

nope not touched it. i would of though it would be the camshaft sensor wires playing about because the earth wire wraps aroun the other two wires going to it to stop interference, and plus its the same place roughly as where the hall effect switch plug is!

hall effect sensor is the cam sensor. its just the way the part works. £72 from partco new.

wether its a coilpack or dispack c20xe the ecu fault code 93 points to same thing on both motronic m2.5 or m2.8. just a bit off throwing with one having a distributor and the other a coil pack. so to say the early xes have hall effect sensor in the dizzy and the later xes have a camshaft position sensor they both refer to same fault just worded diffrently.
