it could be faulty indicater relay or maybe a funked hazzard switch mate
This is the same problem i have i've changed the fuse and checked all the wires but i cant get them working either.
i havent got the hazzord switch in its broke will that affect them?
edit: just put hazzord switch in still nothing

lol yes mate, it needs to be in or they wont work,
the hazard switches in mk2's are prone to breaking, but theres someone on here selling ones that have been made different, and if they break he replaces for free..
theyre 16 delivered IIRC
if that doesnt solve it, new indecator stalk? my one died and i spent ages before finding that out..

Had same problem, it is either the relay or the hazard switch is foobar one of the two
Indicators won't work unless the hazard switch is in.
By broken (and assuming Mk2), do you mean the catch has gone so it won't turn off?

That could be my problem solved then i lost mine when i took the dash apart :(:(
Thanks RJ
